I didn't expect to have so much fun - but I did! We took our family there to celebrate our grandchildren's birthdays. It was priced really fair and there's a ton of different stuff to do. We got there early and rode rides then went to the see the Legos and to the Aquarium. It was a great time I will always cherish. Next time we'll stay another day and go to the waterpark too.

"Great time with our young grandchildren"

We came to the park with our son's family of 3 children under 7. We had previously attended about 8 years ago and were very pleased with many improvements. There was plenty to keep us busy for the whole day. The park is great for younger children (better than Disneyland) as the rides are geared for younger children, rather than thrill rides. The new ride Ninjago was amazing, but kind of confusing, for our car, we didn't get instructions on how to shoot and there were none on the car, so my son and I both ended up with zero, my wife's car was given instructions so they did fine, luckily it wasn't busy so we went again. Overall it was a great time. The park was well maintained and looked good. The boat ride with guides was very good, but the boats looked really bad, a paint job would help, that's the only thing I noticed that didn't look good.

Park it self in not that big and the rides are designed for younger kids but it lots of fun never the less. You can tell that safety is their main concern, lots of help available everywhere. Lots of attractions and shows to keep you entertain. It helps if you stay at hotel - that allow hotel guests to get to the park before is open to general public.

"Sadly Disappointed"

Reviewed September 16, 2017 NEW
I took my family to visit Legoland California in early September of 2017, understanding we were visiting during the 'offseason' and certain parts of the park (mainly the water parks) would be closed during our visit. What we didn't realize was that a good portion of the park would be closed due to a 'special event.' I fully understand the need to promote the new Lego Ninjago movie; but I don't understand why these events weren't held on the two days of the week when the park is closed to the public at this time of the year. You took away from paying guests' experiences in order to cater to a couple dozen people who were there for work. You should have done that on days that wouldn't have impacted the visits of paying guests. Very disappointing.

"Great For Young Children"

We each bought an annual pass because it will pay for itself if you go just two times! The pass includes free parking which will save you twenty bucks each time. The pass also gets you into the water park and the aquarium, so it's a great bargain if you plan on going a few times within a twelve month period. We had our 22 month old granddaughter with us. She went wild running around some of the designated playground areas with the slides and climbing features. She also enjoyed the merry ground, helicopters, and boat rides. These are all very children friendly and they operate at slow speeds. LEGOLAND is clearly designed for young children, not teenagers. It has no rides resembling what you might find at Magic Mountain, Disneyland, etc., which is perfect for our family. There are numerous "sculptures" made entirely of Legos. These are fascinating and you need to take a few minutes to ponder the time and talent required to develop these exhibits. They have a hotel onsite and they are building another new one as of today's date. We had no need for the hotel because we live in San Diego which is only a few miles south of Carlsbad. Of course, they have several food options and gift shops. One of the best things about LEGOLAND is that the lines for the rides are never as long as at some of the other major amusement parks in Southern California. Our longest wait was about fifteen minutes which was for the large boat ride. We got right onto the carousel horse ride which is always a child favorite. See you there!
