"Great location and very family friendly"

My family and I stayed at The Garland for our Universal Studios trip. I traveled with my wife and three young kids. The hotel was very modern, I definitely got the L.A. vibe. The staff was very friendly upon check-in and informed me about the shuttle that takes you to universal daily. If you decide to drive it is only about 5-10 minutes to get there. We hung out by the pool with the family and ordered drinks from the poolside bar, and they were making tacos you could buy as well. It was a very fun and relaxing environment. At night they set up a projector by the pool and played ET the first night and goonies the second night. The kids loved being able to watch a movie as they swam. Overall, I feel this was a very nice hotel and I would highly recommend it to travelers with families.

"Great Cali Boutique Hotel"

I stayed at the Garland in August and really enjoyed this hotel. It's small and exudes a cool California vibe. The rooms are simple and clean with a retro minimalist twist. It was perfect for my needs, traveling alone while I helped move my son nearby. The hotel has great open spaces so conducive to the LA weather. A nice, but small pool area with an open outdoor fireplace and flanked by a bar on one side. This hotel seems to be popular with families as well as business travelers. At night they had outdoor movies for the kids at the pool. They offer valet parking and have a restaurant attached to the hotel offering a good breakfast. We also had a light dinner there one night outside--lovely. The staff at the hotel are very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is situated nicely off 170 in Studio City/North Hollywood--close to parks for the kids and for those of us who grew up in the 60-70s--the "Brady Bunch" house is a short walk away!

We stayed at the Garland for four nights as part of our honeymoon/road trip. The hotel is perfect in every way, friendly and professional staff, lovely clean rooms and a great restaurant for breakfast/lunch and dinner. The pool area is nice with a cool little bar and fresh towels on every sun lounger, the spa tub is a great feature.

This is a surprisingly great place the photo's on the internet don't do it justice. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful and the pool facilities were great. Close to Universal Studios, small shopping centre and subway.

"Good value"

We stayed at the Garland for three days in August and it was enjoyable. The room was big and the beds comfortable. It was a bit noisy because it is right by the freeway, but it is easily accessible. Parking is not cheap, but that is normal for LA. I did feel though that they could use more parking spaces. We had trouble finding a spot arriving late at night. We had lunch and breakfast at the restaurant, and both were extremely good. I went to the pool once and it was fun. Overall a very pleasant experience.
