"Reservation Nightmare"

I made reservation for 2 rooms in Aug for mid Sep. Received confirmation number but by share of luck yesterday when I called reservation desk they told me I only have one room. To get to the point, it appears they had canceled one of my rooms based on the fact that someone by some other name had called and changed it. Bottom line a huge mess on my hand and Supervisor got involved. Not to mention if they added a new room my rates would jump $120. Please be sure to checked on your reservation and get an e-mai. The thing is that is cheap movie maker company movie rent floors at this location and your coming and going is restricted by their whatever cheap sceen profomance action they are making at the location or transporting uknown movie extras. Not worth the money Try other hotelsin the area. Don't fall for Sheraton name. it means nothing when you vacation matters.

"Conveinent to Univeral Studios, but very poor service"

The hotel is located within walking distance of Universal Studios and we were attending a wedding at the hotel so it was convenient. We were put in a room next to the elevator so we requested a different room. In that room the toilet would not flush (something the cleaning crew should have caught). We called and the hotel quickly fixed it. The bathroom sink drained very slowly since the stopper would not move (again something the cleaning staff should have reported). The worst however was that our room was not cleaned at all the full day were were there. We were out of our room by 9:00AM and returned at 3:30 and it was not cleaned, which was fine, but when we left to goto the wedding at 5:00PM and passed the maid in the hallway they still did not clean our room when we returned to our room at 11:00PM. At that point we just wanted to goto sleep since we had a very early flight. All the agent said at checkout was how the directory of house keeping checks the room and he could give us some extra points. For $300/night one should get so much more. Especially since they were remodeling the hotel and jackhammers were going during the day.

"Felt like a motel 6"

The only reason this place is 1 star worthy is because it's walking distance to universal studios and the city walk. We were on the 5th floor which smelled extremely stuffy, moldy and like old paint. Our door wouldn't close all of the way and was a pain in the butt to open. The outlets where our beds were continuously went in and out. Not to mention one of our lamps had a broken lightbulb (and the breaker had to be reset upon check in) There was a long piece of curly hair embedded in one of the towels and you had to call up for ice which took so long that we went ahead and cancelled it. My family and I travel a lot and have stayed in plenty of hotels and this by far was one of the worse ones (came second to a crappy place in Phoenix). We've stayed and plenty a Sheraton's, it's one of my families favorite hotels and we honestly felt like we were in an overpriced Motel 6.

"Friendly workers, but not a perfect stay"

I'm an optimistic person by nature so when I saw a lot of concerning reviews before I left I chose to find out myself during a recent stay. We had stayed here in 2015 and had a nice stay. The good.. The staff was extremely friendly and we never encountered an unpleasant or unkind person. Special shout out to the club staff who went above and beyond for service, they excel at customer service. The bell staff was great as well. Location - great location to City walk and Universal and except for one day the free shuttle was prompt (Sheraton does not own the shuttle). The new lobby looks great. Check in - quick and easy, a fire just broke out on the 9th floor as we were checking in and the staff was handling everything calmly and professionally as some people were freaking out (guests). The not so good It was an extremely hot week (104 with humidity) and the AC was lacking (we had a new poolside room). I believe the AC in the hall was broken so that made it harder for the rooms to cool down. TV - stations were in and out all week. The entire tv was out for a few hours and since it was raining we were kind of stuck in the rooms. Rooms - The room is pretty tight and even though we had a revamped room, the rug was not great and the floors in the bathroom around the toilet already looked worn. The rugs in the hallway were pretty bad and there was a flickering light the entire time. The hotel seem to cheap its way out on a contractor, which is too bad. Housekeeping - We opted out of house keeping 2 days, but only 1 other day did they come up at a reasonable time. One day they had not been there by 4 when we had returned to the room and the last day they did not show up at all. When I tried to call for service no on answered the phone (guest service at 7:00). This resulted in running out of toilet paper. This was disappointing. My son held the bedding up to the light and it was GROSS, luckily he did that as we were checking out or it would have ruined the whole trip. I will send a picture directly to the hotel. The elevator got stuck one day as well. They also over charged us by $10 a night then what my confirmation said and I didn't notice it until I returned. Email to the hotel has had no response. There was a lot of trash and junk around from construction that should have been hidden from guests. I haven't decided if I will come back in the future, unless I hear things have improved (especially for the money). If I'm paying 266 a night (before parking) I expect a close to perfect hotel. Small things like, tv goes out, there was a water main break (did not really effect us), the hotel should do something symbolic like free night of parking or a free drink at the bar etc. This goes a long way in my book. I knew the risk going in with a hotel under construction but for the most part my complaints are not related to the actual construction. I hope that hotel turns things around as I would like to see it be successful.
