"Perfect location"

Wanted to find a hotel close to universal studios. The Sheraton has a shuttle to and from the park or a mere 10 minute walk. The staff was amazing with the kids. Very friendly. We upgraded to club status for $50 and we gained free appetizers in early evening (enough good stuff it could be dinner)! And free continental breakfast. It was just right for us. They have a restaurant and food was good for the one dinner we had there. After a full day in the park sometimes that’s all you want to do.....stay in. 😊. Be aware often when celebrities are performing at universal or filming TV programs, they often stay there. We were bummed because we had just missed the judges for THE VOICE. 😔 The hotel would have gotten a 5 but they are remodeling and sometimes elevators didn’t work right, the club room was not available yet, and I didn’t like what they did inside of the rooms. They made them more modern but put in an opaque window between bathroom and sleeping area......when someone gets up early and goes to take a shower, you light up both rooms! Not a popular thing to do to those wanting a bit more shut eye 👁👎🏻. Only other problem was the windows were so filthy you couldn’t see the great view. Kids loved the pool and jacuzzi. When it is all finished, it will be very nice.

"20 Stories. No elevators. Kids climbed 16 stories. Still broken a week after we left."

You're not really a hotel if... you're a 20+ story building and you have no elevators for the guests. You're not really a hotel if... you require my kids to walk 16 flights to get to our room for ALL FOUR NIGHTS of our stay. You're not really a hotel if... we find out about a service elevator with a fifteen minute wait...but not till the second day, because other guests wanted to keep it a secret, and there was no signage. (Of course, we kept it a secret too! It was a lifeboat on the Titanic.) You're not really a hotel if... on the third day THE PARKING GARAGE ELEVATOR BREAKS DOWN TOO! You're not really a hotel if... you keep assuring guests that the elevator will be fixed the next day. You're not really a hotel if... you tell me a week later that the problem's been fixed, even though review sites say otherwise. You're not really a hotel if... I rented two rooms--four nights each--which might as well have been in a treehouse, yet you offer me less than 5% compensation. DO NOT go to this hotel unless you have confirmed that all elevators are functional. And, unfortunately, DO NOT believe the front desk. I talked to them today, and the manager said, "We've finally got it fixed!" I replied, "Not according to some reviews I'm reading." To which he said, "I didn't say ALL the elevators were fixed. But we do have one fixed." Wow. Don't go here unless you can find a review left by a paying guest. The front desk lied to me.

"Nice rooms. Poor "club lounge""
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed January 07, 2018 NEW
I booked three rooms for family that was visiting town and I could get them club level access. The rooms look modern and nice. No complaints there. I was just disappointed by their "club lounge." The regular lounge on the ninth floor was under renovation but we were not told this and walked into a construction zone. At least put a sign on the door and tell us this. We went to the lobby to ask about the lounge and then they said that it was over by the side near the escalators. It wasn't cocktail hour yet but I wanted a soda as the lounge is supposed to be open from 6:30-sometime at night as the paper said. We went over there and nothing was there. No one was working. It was just an empty area where I could see food and drinks might be placed. I left disappointed. For breakfast, its just a continental breakfast so nothing special there.

"Amazing Hotel ● Universal Studios & Citiwalk"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

Beautiful hotel with shuttle every 15 minutes to Universal Studios & Citywalk. We received excellent customer service upon check in from Alesia. She upgraded us for our wedding anniversary which was greatly appreciated. Later that night, we used our free drink coupons from Alesia and were served by Natasha- another fabulous person providing excellent customer service. There is a free breakfast with eggs, cold cuts, cheese, muffins etc and juice and coffee. It was very adequate for us. Dajuan che!ked us out and was also very professional and courteous. Yes this is a beautiful hotel, but the beautiful people are what make it 5 stars in my book!

"If you’re going to Universal Studios, this hotel will do"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed January 06, 2018 NEW
Staying here is a practical choice for anyone going to Universal Studios. It serves its purpose, particularly with the free and frequent shuttle between the hotel and Universal Studios. Upon arrival you’re greeted with a nice, albeit somewhat over-designed, maze-like lobby floor. The bar/lounge is particularly inviting and relaxing. Arriving at the front desk we were surprised to hear that only one of our two rooms was ready for occupancy — at 7:50pm. Housekeeping had not cleared the second room for use because of a "wire near the door". After waiting in the one room available for 15 minutes, an inspection of the second room by the front desk revealed no such wire so we were allowed in. Our rooms were located on the bottom floor in the short portion of the hotel surrounding the pool. We were led to our rooms by a front desk agent via a couple of stairwells. It felt like a basement. One positive is that our room location gave us easy access to the restaurant (separately reviewed), where we had one very good dinner and two excellent breakfasts. Both rooms were very small. They might have worked with just one bed in them, but two queen beds in each room made them far too cramped. Fortunately, our plans required us to be in the rooms only in the early morning and late evening. In one room, there was a a small puddle of water on the floor near the door, slowly dripping from an AC duct in the ceiling. We concluded that the problem with the room at check-in was not a "wire near the door", but "water near the door". The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. When housekeeping did not restock the bathroom amenities on one day, we asked the front desk for the missing items. They didn’t have any at hand but eventually found some and brought them to our rooms about 30 minutes later. Internet service is barely adequate in terms of signal strength, BUT it is NOT a secured network. That seems inexcusable in 2018. Note: when we arrived there was a notice on the front desk that there would be no hot water available the next day from noon to 3:00pm. We were going to Universal Studios for the day so that didn’t impact us. Hopefully that is not a frequent occurrence.
