"Not really trying"

We stayed at the Grand Legacy in mid-February. It is fairly new hotel and in good condition. However, there is nowhere close to enough parking, so even though you have to pay for parking, you need to valet park to get a spot. They really didn't try to make you feel welcome. The plus side is that it is very close to the park entrance.

Let start out by saying, I researched this trip to death. I thought I was getting a great deal. I will start out by pointing out the good things. The bed was comfortable. The pool and hot tub were nice. The hotel is right across from the entrance to Disney. The folks at the front desk were nice. Now lets get to the bad things. No hot water. Internet was horrible. No breakfast like advertised. Apparently there was an email that went out last month stating this. I never got one. A sack snack pack with a water, cheese stick, apple and a granola bar was given out instead. Awful..... I will stay at the Best Western up the street next time.

It was a brief one night stay and I had stayed here previously during the renovations. After the renovations, the lobby looked nice but it still lacks in other areas. Their rooftop bar was closed for the evening for a private event which was disappointing. The website is very confusing with the complimentary "breakfast" but in reality its just a snack bag (??) I woke up very hungry and was given a granola bar, apple, and string cheese which was not what i was really looking for. The room was clean and nice for a one night stay, and a convenient walk to Disneyland but overall I think i will look elsewhere here on out as an Disneyland annual passholder.

The location was perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived about 9am and I found everything to be very clean. The room is simple but met all of our needs. The Fifth was a great place to grab a meal and a drink before heading back to Disney to watch the parade and fireworks.

The photos online were okay, but I expected better especially for a hotel primarily affiliated with Disney. Staff was friendly and spoke good spanish with my parents. Unfortunately there was a storm going on when we got there and the front desk was offering an umbrella for $8. Like, seriously? $8 to borrow an umbrella? And my parents weren't pleased with the idea of having to pay for the parking, especially considering we only stayed there one night. The staff at the front desk were laughing at my dad when he went out in the rain so that he could get to the car, and we weren't willing to borrow an umbrella for $8. The carpet in our room had some weird magenta stain near the sink in the corner of the room. I didn't like the idea of the sink being outside of the bathroom, It was unsanitary. The soap smelled like an orange creamsicle, It was good. My dad said that the sheets smelled bad, but I honestly couldnt smell anything. The pillows were light, it was nice. The major issue I think definitely must've been the noise. You can hear everything coming from rooms in all directions. Above, below, right and left. Unless you sleep very easily, this issue may not apply to anybody you sleeps easily like me, but if you're a light sleeper I advise you bring earplugs. The maid's cart sounded like a helicopter from above, it's odd. Is it worth it? I suppose if you want a location close to disney. Is it worth it as a regular hotel stay and does it meet the required expectations and you'd have for a hotel? Probably not.
