"Great! "

Loved our stay here. The staff could not have been more helpful, check in was a breeze and we were quickly shown to our very spacious room! We had 2 double rooms within our suite with a kitchen and lounge area too. There is free snacks available throughout the day at reception, a drinks machine and also a phone to ring for an ice pop while u are by the pool. We didn’t spend much time at the hotel as we were off and about but it was a great place. The reason I haven’t given it 5 points is that it is appearing to be very tired and could do with a little face lift but that wouldn’t stop me from returning.

"Great place to stay"

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The kids loved going to the front desk for snacks and the soda machine, they didn't try the popsicle hotline at the pool but were rather fascinated by it. Just one block to the Hollywood walk of fame with plenty of sightseeing options nearby. Had to pay for parking but considering some of the places we stayed quite a reasonable charge. Free laundry service was fantastic and something we really missed later in our trip. No lifts so be prepared to lug suitcases up stairs. Would come back here.

"Amazing customer service!"

Our first visit to LA for 5 of us and what a pleasure to stay at the Magic Castle Hotel. Clean, sizeable suites were pleasing on arrival but over the 4 days we stayed there the fantastic customer service was something we had never experienced before, anywhere! In truth the high ratings on TripAdvisor for customer service was the reason we chose the hotel and the staff ensured our expectations were exceeded. Our thanks to all who worked at the hotel during April 17-21 and a special mention to Vanessa, who simply excelled in ensuring our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. Wayne, Australia

"Our kids LOVED it"

Like many others, we found the Magic Castle Hotel to be extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We drove directly from the airport after a long flight from Melbourne hoping to drop off our bags, and were very grateful to be offered an early check-in at 9am. We were even offered (free) breakfast! For us, the location, laundry service, free snacks (candy bar but also the fresh fruit and snacks in the lobby) large rooms and friendly staff outweighed any points about the hotel being rather dated. Our room comfortably accommodated us parents in the bedroom, with two kids on a sofa-bed and one on a rollaway in the living area (aged 6, 9 and 11years). The pool was not as impressive as some hotels we stayed in, but the novelty of the popsicle hotline means it was the kids’ favourite. They also enjoyed the breakfast time magician who was very entertaining. Perhaps partly as it was the first stop on a month-long trip in the US, but this hotel had the biggest impact on our kids. When reminiscing about our holiday, they talk more about the Magic Castle Hotel than they do about Disneyland, and are DESPERATE to go back…. *I must add that our trip to the US was over a year ago, but I have finally written up my notes in case they include anything helpful for others. We travelled from Australia with three primary school aged children (6, 9, and 11 years) in September/October 2016 for a one month holiday. While planning our trip, I spent a lot of time researching suitable places to stay for a family of five, which can be a challenge!

"Terrible stay"

Pros: - Location - Free snacks and cold drinks - Friendly front desk staff Cons (see some pics): - Extremely filthy room (#118). Flies in the kitchen, dirty carpet, broken shower, dust everywhere - Hair everywhere -- on towels, sheets, pillow covers - The floorboards upstairs are extremely squeaky, we could hear every footstep - Broken trash cans - One morning we didn't have any water in the bathroom and it was only fixed after complaining to the front desk multiple times. It took over an hour for someone to show up. We had a sightseeing tour planned for that morning and had to reschedule (fortunately without the penalty). We wasted the whole morning and had to skip our trip to Santa Monica. No apologies from the hotel staff. Even the cheap motels we've stayed at were in much better shape than the Magic Castle Hotel. For $270+ per night, they need to at least make sure nothing is broken in their rooms.
