"dinner and magic"

Went with 8 of my friends and the Magic Castle is always a fun - once a year - place to go and socialize. I recommend having dinner early then visit as many shows as you can because its first come first serve. All the magic is done by professionals and each has their own unique style. Very fun for a birthday, special occasion or a date night out!

"Great Service!"

All of our laundry was done for free, the free snacks and soda machine kept my family occupied while we sat beside the great pool. The rooms are large, plenty of room to move around and was in walking distance of many major sites. The hospitality was amazing and the staff were very accommodating.

We spent four great nights here, my Daughter & Family had stayed on previous trips to LA, our room was spacious with two queen beds. On checkin Reception staff were very friendly. We arrived around 6.30pm, the girls (Granddaughters) went for a swim and we sat poolside. Reception have takeaway menus for a few different Restaurants, we chose Chinese, you simply fill out what you want take it to Reception and they ring it through for you. The Reception Staff we found to be great, very helpful, nothing to much trouble, and children treated in the same manner. My Grandaughters loved the Popsicle Hotline which is in the pool area, staff deliver the free Popsicles to children, on a tray so they can choose their preferred flavour, and the Staff member wears a white glove, such a lovely touch. You can also help yourself to the Soda Machine and Ice Cream Machine, treats are available from Reception simply by asking, they have a list of the chocolates, chips etc that are available. The Continental Breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable, great location with just a walk down the hill to get to Downtown LA. After travelling for sometime the free laundry was a bonus. This is a great place to stay, the Staff are all 100% committed to their jobs, highly recommended.

"Quick trip to LA"

We travelled to LA for a concert and needed a reasonable hotel for the evening. Being in LA things are pretty crazy but we do und this gem. Had good reviews from other travelers that made us decide to try this place. It was a old apartment building that was converted into a hotel. We got treated with a drink and choice of snack. Pool in center of the building. Our room had a large living room with full kitchen. Master boodroom was great. Comfortable beds with pretty linens. Clean. And the living room had a pull out couch, perfect for my sister to sleep on. If you would like a reasonable place to stay this is it. It does not have the bells and whistles like a large fancy chain place but perfect for a stay like this.

Recently made a reservation based on information that the reservation would allow me to make a dinner reservation at the Magic Castle. Because I was coordinating schedules for several people, had only one night in LA when all could come to dinner, asked specifically if we could make the reservation and was told, no problem. Now, I've made a reservation at the hotel, cancelled another reservation at a different hotel, invited the guests and am now told that I can't have the dinner reservation because the club is closed for an "employee appreciation night." This is a DEPLORABLE way to treat guests and I fell as if a "bait and switch" has happened to induce me to make the reservation at the hotel, for, as it turns out--no reason. The explanation that you are separate companies isn't helpful as the person I spoke to, initially, on the phone assured me that a Monday night reservation would be absolutely no problem. If you are attempting to book an event at the Magic Castle, be warned, the hotel claims to be the conduit for making that possibility available--but they will only tell you AFTER your make your reservation that they can't do what they promised up front. Avoid these people unless you want to be disappointed and you enjoy disappointing your guests.
