We stayed at Knott's Berry Farm hotel for 9 nights over the Easter break, visiting from England. Some things that may be helpful for parents of young children: Snoopy is around a lot! There's rarely a wait to see him and he will wander round breakfast tables at certain times, happy to pose for photos. The pool area is great. It has a swimming pool, splash area for kids with sprays and buckets squirting and tipping water, plus a beautifully warm Jacuzzi. The pool is open from morning to late and night and plenty of pool towels are made available. You may get a children eat free voucher when you check in. It is valid for lunch and dinner only. The breakfast buffet is great! Coffee, the best orange juice, sausage, bacon, eggs, Denver eggs, hash brown, cereals, fruit, muffins, croissants, bagels, French toast, etc etc. Price was $10 for children and $16.50 I think for adults. You can charge to your room. You can also order individual menu items instead, including pancakes. There are so many shops nearby. A short drive will get you to a wide range of restaurants (Try Rock and Brews) and a Walmart. If going to the theme parks go to Walmart to stock up on water bottles and other drinks or snacks. (e.g soft drink in a park can reach almost $4, can from outside Walmart is 50c.) You can walk very easily from the hotel to Knott's Berry Farm theme park and to a selection of nice shops called the Marketplace that stay open an hour after the park shuts (in our case until 11pm.) There you will find lots of souvenirs of all kinds, gifts, toys, a Snoopy shop, TGI Fridays, Mrs Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant and shops selling bakery goods such as croissants and the amazing boysenberry pie. There is also a small gift shop in the hotel which is very reasonable. (Average theme park hoodies cost $35 but here we bought a Knott's one for $19). Our room had two large beds and plenty of space. There are plentiful large towels and toiletries are provided. There is also a coffee making machine, hair drier, iron, board and safe. We used this hotel as a base to do the following: Visit Disneyland Californian Adventure and Disneyland Park, Warner Bros Studio Tour in Hollywood, Newport beach (for whale watching, pre-booked online), Huntington Beach and a trip down to San Diego for SeaWorld. All in all a great, family friendly, comfortable hotel where you will feel right at home. Parking is plentiful and the staff will greet you warmly every time you walk past reception. The housekeeping staff are also extremely helpful and I would certainly return here again.

We stayed here for two weeks and hotel itself was lovely and couldn't fault it at all. Rooms were clean. The shuttle service was great. Pool was nice although cold but this was made better with their hot jacuzzi pool. There were plenty of very nice shops to look around as well as the theme park although we didn't do the theme park itself. The location itself was ok. There were plenty of fast food restaurants They had a McDonald's. Dominos. IHOP etc but lacked any decent buffet restaurants. Also because of the exchange rate most things were a lot more expensive. We ended up hiring a car and can highly recommend travelling to the Golden Corral restaurants. There was one about 15min drive from the hotel. Plenty of choice. Clean and lovely food. The hotel offered pricey excursions but some days we went by bus which was lovely as was able to explore more and all for $1.50 each so saved on money. We got the bus to seal beach which was a nice little seaside town. There were bus routes all around the hotel and if u type in where u want to go on google maps it will give u all the travelling options including uber. The theme parks were very expensive. We did both Disney and universal and if we were going to do it again we would skip one of the Disney parks and just do Disney California adventure park as that was more suited to our 10 year old. The main Disney park was for younger children. We paid around $360 dollars per park so be prepared for this expense. If you are doing universal theme park go straight down the escalators and do the lower tier rides first as they get really busy. This was a tip I found online and it paid off as queues get ridiculous. Also I highly recommend to skip going on a weekend and go on a Monday to the theme parks. The queues at the weekend for each ride was 90mins + Hollywood is a must do thing although we were overall disappointing as it was a bit of a dump. Not sure what we were expecting but it wasn't what we saw. Lol. The Hollywood walk of fame was full of druggies shouting and begging and homeless people and was quite overall a scary experience. Once we hired a car we drove to Malibu beach and long beach which is highly recommended and if u like your road trips then I highly recommend a trip to big bear lake. It is right up in the mountains but was an absolutely beautiful place with beautiful views. The shops were all rustic items and proper country clothing and the shop owners were so polite and lovely. Was a typical really nice American town and would go there again. If you want to venture further we did a road trip to Las Vegas and had a night there. Was a lovely drive and a nice shopping mall on the way. Vegas itself was great on the main strip and we booked into the travelodge. The room looked like a setting of a horror film. Lol but was around $65 and right in the heart of everything. Outside the strip was very rundown but overall it's well worth a visit there. Just be warned the driving is crazy out there. Lol. U have to be so alert and try not to drive through their rush hour times as it's just horrendous. We did carry on to Arizona but that was just hours of nothing to see. Lol Petrol was so cheap it was unreal. We had a large SUV Hyundai Santa Fe sport and when u fill up with petrol here u pay first so I'd pay $20 at a guess and would have to go in for change every time as around $16 would give u a full tank. Crazy compared to how expensive it is in England. Overall we would go again but defiantly not the same location. Hotel itself was fine but location not. There were no attractions really within walking distance other than The knotts berry complex. Plenty of shops and Walgreens for convenience but not much else and nowhere near Disney as we thought it was. Still a good 25min drive. Absolute must do's would be hire a car. Go to big bear lake. Do the theme parks during the week. Have to say the California people were so friendly and overall it was a great holiday. There was so much to do once you go out of Anaheim .

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here as a family and we still love it, the rooms are clean and big enough to accommodate a family of 4 and suitcases. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the location is great (we went to the Ice Hockey and Basketball while staying here). We will be back.

We returned for a one night stay. We booked a nice King Size Room. There is a flat screen TV, nice sitting chair, and desk area. There are tourist brochures for the area. We like it that there is a nice Olympic size swimming pool and jacuzzi. They also have a sauna. We liked their on site restaurant for lunch called Amber Waves. One gets a discount price when staying at the hotel. Rooms are clean. Internet reception is OK. Service is good. Parking is also good. Its walking distance to the park and also the shops and restaurants.

Location is perfect for Knotts Berry Farm. We agreed that even for our future Knotts / Disneyland trip, we may consider this hotel again. Buena Park is a city with lots of good eats, so you don't need to worry about where to eat. Hotel itself may need some update in the near future, but overall the rooms are nice and neat. We only stay at the regular room, and it's good. We will try the Snoopy room next time we visit. There is Snoopy meet and greet in the lobby area throughout the day, be sure ask about the schedule. On site restaurant was pretty good as well.
