"Disrepair"

We stayed here for three nights in May 2018. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. The rooms were in need of repair. The wallpaper was peeling, baseboards were missing, the sink smelled horrible like something was growing and living in the drain, the carpets were stained, and the air conditioner put out a moldy/mildew smell when it was on. Although the hotel is under renovation ----- beware of staying there in the meantime.

"Very friendly staff and good value for your money"

All the staff was very friendly, the girls at the front desk and the gentlemen from the valet parking, they were all very nice! I really liked that they had Valet parking instead of self-parking, breakfast was included and it was good, room was clean. It was five of us and we got a suite and it was spacious and comfortable, the beds and the sofa bed were comfortable. I would recommend this hotel. Good value for your money and we liked that it’s very close to Universal Studios and just around the corner from the Walk of Fame. At first I thought it would be noisy since it’s on a busy area but it wasn’t, we were able to sleep without a problem.

"It’s all Good,"

I’m afraid this review is a little late but still worth mentioning just the same. Last month, I spent 5 days in The Hollywood section of Los Angeles. There was a exhibition at The Hollywood Museum of the 1966 Batman TV show. The solo trip was a 60th birthday gift from my wife. I was lucky enough to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hollywood Walk of Fame. I must say everybody on staff was very friendly. My 6 hour flight got in after 9 pm and it was close to 10 pm when I got to the hotel. I was tired, and just wanted to get to bed! Upon arrival I met Hermond, who checked me in. (I really hope I’m spelling her name correctly ). When I gave Hermond my name and ID she gave me a big smile and wished me a happy birthday. Apparently, my wife informed them it when she made my reservations. Hermond said they would try to make my Birthday special, and after consulting with her manager upgraded me to a very nice suite., with a patio and a lovely view, which by the way included the famous “Hollywood” sign. Hermond, was a nice as anyone could be, and very accommodating. Each morning in the dining room Ms. Marieta, was always there with a warm hello, and always made sure the food was plentiful. It’s a serve yourself buffet type of thing. In the past been to other hotels where I’ve got to the dining area and some trays are empty and you stand there waiting and waiting with plate in hand for them to refill, and the food still arrives cold. Not here! I don’t know how they kept up with it, but every morning when I came to the dining area it was as if I was the first to arrive. I wasn’t, but the trays were filled as if I were. And the food itself was good and filling enough start me off through a full day of sightseeing. Speaking of sightseeing, the hotel is less than a 10 minute walk from Hollywood Blvd, and anywhere else was easily accessible by a short cab ride. I throughly enjoyed my trip to Hollywood, and grateful to the staff of The Holiday Inn Express Hollywood especially Hermond, for making it one of my most memorable Birthdays! Highly recommended! (Even if it’s not your birthday.)

"Hollywood, Subway & Universal Studios"

Great location close to the Walk of Fame, Nokia (Microsoft) Theater and a Subway Station (Hollywood/Highland, Red Line). It´s a metro stop away from Universal Studios Hollywood, a highly recommendable amusement park. Even better than the location is the friendly and nice staff (specially Jose, María and Karol). They are really helpful for the visitor as they know the area and the whole city. The rooms are big and quiet, breakfast is very complete (although repetitive) and at a short walk is easy to find interesting dining options and supermarkets. On the cons, some of the common areas need reform works.
