"Customer Engagement at its BEST"

Every single Hilton team member from Engineering & Maintenance, Housekeeping, Security, to the more obvious Front Desk and Restaurant/Bar staff greeted me ALL day & night. Not one person missed to acknowledge me with not just a smile but with a full greeting! I work at Trader Joe's where we're like "Disneyland" everyday. This Universal City Hilton is right up there to make sure you feel welcomed. The facilities are impeccably maintained. The one minor quirk I observed is that my room had no towel bar nor hook? Hmm? I had to hang my towel over the curtain rod. Other than that, this property IS superior for its services.

"Little compassion at the front desk"

I didn't care for the attitude of the woman who checked me in. I described to her that I would like to stay only 2 nights instead of 3 since I wanted to volunteer for disaster relief efforts in the Camp Fire animal shelter in Oroville, CA for the rescued pets from Paradise, CA. She informed me that my deadline to change the reservation had long expired and that essentially it was just too bad. She'd charge me $75 anyway even though it was over 48 hours in advance of that night's stay. Especially as it relates to volunteers for a national disaster, I thought her attitude was quite pissy and not at all compassionate. It tainted the entire stay at your hotel and I told over 20 people at the hotel that next day how disappointed I was with your hotel. They all agreed with me. Sometimes you just have to be a little compassionate and not be so rigid, especially when I come stay at this hotel three times a year for about 10 nights a year, and in other Hilton hotels many more nights than that. I'm disappointed in them. They know better.

Overall very nice a great staff. Dining in was very expensive and way outside what I have expected in the past. Wanted to try the Buffett but at around 75 US each we passed. Double bed room was way to small and cramped and would comfortable only sleep 3 persons. Well located to Hollywood and Universal Studios and view was awesome.

I am currently staying here; came for my birthday weekend to go to universal studios w/a friend. I'll admit it's quiet and seems clean, but the beds are extremely uncomfortable and springy, making loud noises when you move. They left a note in the room explaining they are renovating, but we clearly got an old room. I asked for 2 extra foam pillows and got one, and the showers are the worst. I understand the drought, but the water is cold no matter what you do, with zero pressure. It also doesn't drain so you're standing in cold water while making a futile attempt to rinse shampoo out of your hair. The Hilton name means something and I'm paying to stay at a nice hotel, not a cheap motel. Hilton has the money for hot water, especially after what they charge for breakfast. You're offering free promotions for the Sheraton next door.

We stayed at the hotel in early October, 2018. We arrived around midnight with our tired 9 year old daughter. It took us 40 minutes of waiting in line to officially check in, but thank goodness a true angel named Pamela checked us in. As an employee of the Conrad in Indianapolis, I expected excellent service and got it from Pamela! I was unable to get the employee discount because the hotel was booked! Pamela went above and beyond and upgraded us to a suite! My daughter had her best birthday ever!! Pamela showed what true customer service is all about!! The staff very friendly and the hotel was clean and beautiful! Also, convenience to everything was huge benefit! We were able to walk to Universal Studios!
