"A Good Place to Stay While Going to Disneyland"

We have stayed here once before about 3 years ago. Since then the rooms have been updated. It is a very good place to stay. It is close by and a little more reasonable than the Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Grand California Resort. The rooms and common areas are very clean. The only issue is the distance to enter the Disneyland Parks. They have closed off some of the shortcuts that made this location one of the closest locations.

"Convenient, colorful and cute--best for those with kids!"

The location is pretty good--a brief and very safe walk to the Disneyland Hotel end of Downtown Disney (still a trek to Disneyland and California Adventure, but convenient nonetheless; while the Grand Californian is just across the street, please know that you can no longer access the park there as a Paradise Pier guest; you must be a registered Grand Californian guest to do that). The lobby is welcoming and fun for kids (including cute photo op with Goofy and his surfboard), and the staff was very friendly and accommodating at check-in. No complaints here about the elevators; they were no problem for us. The rooms are spacious and bright and appealing to youngsters with a retro Disney beach theme all around. I wouldn't be keen to stay here without little ones--this hotel is not subtle in theme, and it's definitely teeming with kids and alive with youthful exuberance! However, the rooms are nicely sound-proofed, so it was a peaceful stay--I heard less from neighbors here than I often do at the much pricier Grand Californian. We overlooked the pool, parking and cityscape--I'm sure the rooms overlooking California Adventure were lovely, as the windowed elevator view was a treat! I'm not sure I'd select this hotel over any other conveniently-located hotel chain--while I had no complaints, there just wasn't enough of that "Disney magic" here to necessarily warrant the Disney price tag.

This hotel was very convenient for walking to and from Disneyland. The rooms were on the larger side compared to others I have stayed in, was a very comfortable bed and pillows and very clean. The character breakfast was quite expensive but lots of great food to choose from and plenty of time with the characters, we got to see Minnie mouse, daisy duck, micky mouse and stitch. All in all a hotel and a added bonus that it was close to the park.

"Awesome view"

This year we stayed at the Paradise Pier hotel at Disneyland, unlike the Disneyland Hotel which we stayed in two years ago has less “mickey” themed decor, pretty simple but still big enough for the three is us. I opt for a higher floor and we had the whole view of the pier in California adventure, so our room was right behind the boardwalk and we were able to watch the world of color each night they had it. Now if you are more into seeing fireworks then Disneyland hotel would be better to view that than at the Paradise Pier, we were able to hear it but were not able to see any. It isn’t a far distance from downtown disney either from what I was told it was far but since they moved the secure checkpoint area it isn’t far at all. Laundry room was located inside the hotel which was way more convenient than how it was at the Disneyland hotel, which was outside towards the back area. Next trip to Disneyland I would definitely stay here again, plus the rooms had to beach ball pillows which my son loved to throw around from bed to bed.

Check-in Sept39 Check-out Oct1 2017 Room 936 and 938 -- Nice night view of the California Adventure Park water show with fireworks in the background from Disneyland. -- Comfy beds -- Room felt worn and tired -- 938 still had leftover food in it from another guest -- 936 didn't have hot water for my shower at 630am -- room service food menu was very limited: chicken breast, pizza, burger, salad... No pasta or steak -- Was told food might take up to 45 minutes to be delivered... used Uber Eats instead and got pasta delivered in 25min! Parking -- No elevator in self parking lot so drop everything and everyone off first before parking -- Valet couldn't find my keys for a while Location -- Hotel is a long walk to Disneyland/C.A. front gates -- If you have the $$$$ stay at the Grand Hotel... it has a side gate into C.A. Misc. -- Staff didn't seem happy to be working there -- Great place to reserve the Disney Character breakfast (reserve it quickly, spaces fill up quick) Price per night and overall experience didn't line up.
