"Great trip to Disneyland"

With this trip, we have stayed at all three Disney properties at Disneyland. This hotel was once the Pan Pacific Hotel before Disney bought it. While the public areas were clearly updated, the rooms have only been redecorated and themed. The rooms can definitely use an update. That said though, the rooms were comfortable. I traveled with my husband and 18-year-old twins. We had two king beds and a pull-out daybed. The beds were very comfortable but the carpeting was a bit thin. The bathroom was very standard. We did not eat at the hotel but we did have drinks at the pools and the margaritas were a bit watered down. i am not sure I would stay here again.

"Great hotel for large families"

We visited 4th of July, with four small children and two adults. The hotel is close to the parks, and our room was great, we had a view of the entire California Adventure park. We did not spend a whole lot of time there besides sleeping, but the two bathrooms in our room were awesome. This is not the nicest Disney hotel we have stayed in as far as amenities, the pool could use a remodel in my opinion but it's good enough for kids to enjoy themselves. Being the lowest priced hotel on property, it's the convenience factor of being close that's worthwhile. It's about a 15 min walk to the park entrance. Overall, we would return.

Room on the 12th Floor. View of pool and parking lot. Not a desirable view. Rooms were cute Beach oriented theme with stuffed beach balls on the beds, A day bed and decorum Mickey themed lamps and I liked the striped blue/green curtains. We self parked which service was terrible. We had to haul our own luggage and bags to the front of the hotel. There is only 1 restaurant PCH Grill for breakfast and Dinner. Both were buffet type only. The weird thing. The elevators are preprogrammed from the outside key pad in Lobby designating elevator A-D to enter. It takes you only to that floor. It may have 2 other floors also in that one elevator. Elevators are very small. The second day we waited 12 minutes just to get up the elevator. Some of them were not working. In fact only one elevator. Not so convenient. The pool is not what you expect for a Disney hotel. Nothing luxury or even close. Overpriced for your money. Pool was over crowded and not big enough for the full hotel if they were busy and 75 % of the hotel decided to be at the pool. Service there is not that good either. You have to waive the one person down as they are walking by not really paying attention to customers. Not a customer service oriented hotel. There is a plus with the huge slide. I had a discount on my stay. I would not pay full price to stay here. Overpriced and you don't get the service you expect at a Disney hotel.

"OK, but not really Dinsey-esque enough and not worth what they charge"

We stayed at Disney's Paradise Pier and although it was OK, I thought it was just a regular hotel with just a few Disney touches to brand it "Disney". It certainly was not what we were used to from Walt Disney World. I thought the hotel was pricey for what we got. I would place it almost at the level of a value resort. The pillows were terrible. It felt like the foam was crumbling and the pieces were being held together by the casing. The pool was SUPER small and unimpressive for the size of the hotel. The water slide looked OK, although we didn't use it. The whole property was a little underwhelming. Although the staff were friendly enough and helpful enough for the most part, they just didn't have that Disney feel -- not bubbly and overly excited to help -- maybe it's a West coast thing. We had to ask for extra shampoo and towels once and the housekeeping staff seemed as though they were annoyed when they brought the towels. It was fairly close to the parks, but it was about a 15 minute walk through Downtown Disney. The parks look a lot closer than the entrance actually is. Not sure this hotel is actually worth the money they charge for it. We found this hotel a bit disappointing
