"All about location"

The Short: This hotel is all about location. If you have traveled here, you are probably there to visit Disneyland. The location is literally across the street from the main gate. Also about location, it shares a parking lot with Panera, and Mcdonals is next door if hungry. With that said, the hotel itself, checks the boxes of whats needed for a traveler going to Disneyland. Check in smooth and effortless. If you are early, they will check your bags. The rooms are exterior entry. Room itself is average hotel room size and clean. There is a pool and hot tub as well as a gym. A small store connected to the lobby and also an additional snack area on the 3rd floor that has pizza, beer/wine, coffee, and other eats. And lastly there is an arcade. Check In: We arrived early, prior to the standard check in time. This was no problem for us. The staff at the front desk was friendly and took care of us quickly, and stated they would notify us when a room was ready VIA text or phone call. We were able to check our bags at the bell area. Approximately 2 hours later, our room was ready. We returned to the hotel, retrieved our room keys and bags and were directed to our room. This process was very smooth. Room: This is your average hotel room. There were two beds and bathroom, shower and a tv. It was clean and had everything we needed. Not much to say about the room. One plus tho for the room that i didnt know about prior to our arrival, is that it featured a chair that tranforms into a twin sized bed if needed. This was a nice touch for those who may be traveling with multiple kids. Public Spaces: Lobby was welcoming. It seemed updated and also featured a childrens area which is nice for those time that you have to wait in line and the kids need something to do. Also connect to the lobby was a small shop. It featured all the things you may have left at home that you need and some snacks. Also the small shop had a limited selection of disney items. On the 3rd Floor there is another public space, billed as a Pizza Hut but it also features other items for sale that you can eat. As well as beer and Wine. There is also an open space with seating to eat which features televisions. Next to this space is a arcade, which is good in case you would like to eat and the kids need a distraction while you are enjoying some food. The only downside to this pizza hut is that it seems to keep odd hours. Closed during the middle of the day and early at night (9 pm when people are returning hungry from the park). Amenities: There is a Gym on the 3rd floor. It featured 3 treadmills and 3 ellipticals and some dumbell free weights. It allowed me to get done what needed to be done but i wish they had a few more items in the gym to call it a gym. It was more like a workout room that you needed to get creative in to get a complete workout in. The Pool area is not big but it is not small, its just fine. We enjoyed the pool once day and the water temprature was a little on the chilly side. There is also a hot tub connect to the area that seemed a little small and was often crowded. But if youd like to use the pool, its there. Maybe i was a little jealous of the pool next door at the courtyard. Location: The location is key. It is directly across the street from the park. Walk out to the main road, make a left, to get to the crosswalk and the right and you are at the entrance to the park. Literally 5 minutes away on foot. Also with the location, if you dont care to spend a ton of money on food at the disney parks, then you can get food at any number of restaurants that are all within walking distance, which adds value to this property. The Bottomline: I would recommend staying at this hotel. The price is right, the location is right, and it offered what i needed. A clean and quiet place to lay my head before heading across the street to experiance the magic. I would stay here again. All hotels are not created equally, and this one wears the Marriott monaker, which says a little something because they have an image to uphold. So with that said, if you are on the fence about a hotel in the same area and same price range, id say choose here.

"Awful place to use as your honeymoon"

My wife and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon because of the short walk to Disneyland. First off, we booked it several weeks in advanced. We booked 1 king bed. When we arrived, they said that the room we reserved was no longer available and they had a room with two queens...are you guys kidding? It was our honeymoon and we had to get a room with two queens. Whatever it was late and we were tired from the traveling. They apologized and offered us one free night of parking. (Which is $20 a NIGHT). The room they gave us was literally right next to the elevator so all we heard was that motor running. We called the front desk and they apologized again and gave us a new room. The new room they gave us seemed okay, so we got settled in. We turned the ac on and started to get ready for bed. The ac kept making really loud strange noises like maybe paper was stuck in it or something I'm not sure. We were really tired so we tried to fight thru the noise. Kept waking up throughout the night due to the crazy noises. So our first night and first experience was just awful. To catch you up, first our room wasn't reserved so they gave us a double queen. Second they gave us a noisy noisy room right next to the elevator, third they gave us a room with a broken ac unit with cords coming out from under it. When we came back from Disneyland it was still making noise so we called maintenance to come take a look at the ac unit and wiring. When he arrived of course the unit stopped making noise and we couldn't show him but we did show the cords coming out. He said they were under maintenance and there was no power to the cords. That may be so but being a Marriott I expected a bit more from the hotel. Same thing that night just off and on noise from the ac along side of off and on sleep. I think I finally got to bed but was waken up at the crack of dawn to a loud screaming child. Recap. Don't waste your time here. Very basic rooms, extremely poor ac units in the rooms, paper thin walls, $20 a day parking per vehicle. This hotel very much came close to ruining our honeymoon and we were seriously debating getting a room at another nearby hotel.

"Outrageously Pleasant Experience"

This hotel is across the street east of Disneyland, within easy walking distance with parking included through a Get-Away-Today package. Staff was beyond helpful and friendly. Room was family friendly (not plush but clean). Beds were comfortable. Pool and hot tub were nice and at good temperatures. When I had trouble with my 3rd party reservation company, the hotel responded with help and a friendly "no problem" attitude. Not a lot of parking spaces, but I always found a place. Would definitely recommend this hotel for families vacationing at Disneyland.

Check in not very pleasant as was told would text if ready before 4:00 but got to hotel at 3:40 and just got keys and wasn't told anything, like check out time, pool hours, where the fitness room was. Would of been nice to have microwave in room. It is pretty much across the street from Disneyland though which is very nice. The wifi service was not good at all.

I read a lot of mixed reviews before staying here and was a bit apprehensive, but the price was pretty stellar so I went for it. I definitely made the right decision. First off, the location cannot be beat. Ok, it can be beat, but only by about 3 hotels :). It is well under a 10 minute walk to the Disney parks. There is a Panera in the parking lot and a Pizza Hut Express (and video arcade) on the 3rd floor of the hotel. They serve breakfast there as well if you do not want to do breakfast in the park or go to Panera or McD's. The opposite way of the park 1 block is a Mimi's Cafe. They have pretty good food here as well. The hotel also has coin laundry if you are there for an extended time. We were also impressed with the room for the price as well. The rooms are all newly redone (some are still in process). But the newly done rooms are comfortable and come with a "sleeper chair" which is handy if you have a slightly larger group with a small child. The sleeper chair is a pull out bed from a chair that is slightly smaller than a twin size bed. An adult can fit (I am 5' 10" and I used it one night), but mainly this is best for a kid. The beds are ok, not the most comfortable thing you will ever sleep on, but they do the job. There is also a mini fridge in the rooms to store waters, sodas, etc... The renovated rooms also have 55" TVs and Disney Jr for the kids. The pool and hot tub are nice, although if you came for Disney, you probably won't be using them much. The hot tub may be a bit small for the size of the hotel, but again... most people staying here are at the parks from open to close. So there really isn't much time for the pool area. Housekeeping was great as well. Very thorough, the room was always clean and we always had everything we needed. The water was off (due to renovations) for about an hour on the first day we were there. We were told the night before and it was in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. It was handled very well in my opinion. My only complaint is that I got overcharged for parking by the valet company (which I am still trying to get fixed with Marriott), even after calling and making them aware of it before I checked out. Basically I had a car for one night so they charged me for the week, The bottom line is that it is not a 5 star resort, they provide basic accommodations with a great location and a few amenities. if you are expecting luxury, you will be greatly disappointed. But it is a pretty decent place with a great location if you are going to Disneyland. You likely will not be spending much time in your room if that is the case, so you probably will not even use that 55" TV in the room. I have stayed next door at the Courtyard, and would say this stacks up well to that but without some of the amenities you probably won't use anyway (no water park). The standard room here is smaller than at the Courtyard for sure (no bunk beds), but is way cheaper. The Fairfield does offer suites though, which are more in line with the standard rooms at the Courtyard and still less expensive (and slightly closer to Disney). All-in-all, I have no major complaints about the Fairfield. We will definitely stay again the next time we go to the parks.
