"What an amazing time for the whole family at IFLY!"
March, 2015
We recently went to IFLY with four of my relatives. They are all between the ages of 50 and 65 and in good health. I was unsure of how they would do with it or if any of them would chicken out when they arrived. To my surprise all of them went and had an absolutely amazing time. They will not stop talking and bragging to everyone they see. They said they want more! Highly suggest going this is an awesome experience.

My iFLY flight was more fun than I thought it was going to be. The training was simple and quick, no long drawn out class. It was exilerating and a great experience to share with my family.

If you need something fun and unique to do with family and/or friends, or maybe just a memorable vacation activity, look no further than iFLY Hollywood. I had no real interest in trying indoor skydiving prior to my work team outing. I was going because everyone else voted for it, and I wanted to tag along and be a good sport. When we arrived and started watching the group before us, I started seeing all the smiles on their faces and some of the folks doing the "high fly;" my interest was peaked. When we entered the room to watch the training video, I saw all the different aspects of flying... That's when I got really excited. You learn a few hand signals and body positions, and then you suit up to fly. They spend enough time in the training room to make sure you feel comfortable before going into the wind tunnel, but it goes pretty quickly so you don't feel like you have to wait forever. When our group lined up to go inside, I was so excited I volunteered to go first. I had a BLAST. Our instructor, Kyle, was fantastic. He made sure we all knew the hand signals to watch for in case he needed to tell us to change body positions slightly, and he helped us to have a great time with each fly. He was also super encouraging with each of us. I had so much fun on my first fly, I decided to do 2 more and go for the "high fly," that way Kyle was able to increase the wind speed in the tunnel and take me higher, doing big circles and making me feel like a super hero. I HIGHly recommend it (see what I did there?). This is a great activity for all levels of skill, all ages, all shapes and sizes. It's a unique experience, and it's a bit of a work out as well! You have the option to take home pictures and videos for the memories. Every one of my photos showed the pure joy on my face, ha! Everyone in our group had SO much fun, and we all plan to go back and take family and friends!

great staff, fabulous experience for the kids attending my son's 9th birthday party. My 5 year old got up there and did some high flying also. I highly recommend if your out of that clown in the backyard age but still too young for expensive theme parks. Perfectly timed also. off to lunch at the Hard Rock and back home for cake.

"Great group activity"

We booked a group of 15 students to participate in the iFly STEM program. Students were ages 11-14. Other than a very slow check in process the staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable. The students had a blast even getting "ready" for their flight with suits, goggles and helmets. Our instructor Jason was so patient and kind to all the kids regardless of ability level. My son was one of the participants and can't wait to go back and "fly" again.

"Big cost for 2 minutes"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed April 25, 2018 NEW
Great idea and concept but it is expensive for what amounts to 2 minutes flight time. Standard cost is $59 but we paid $10 extra for the kids to go higher in the tube. However that higher flight only lasted around 20 seconds on the 2nd flight. The team that run it work very hard and I appreciate them taking the safety of our kids into their hands, but it is expensive, and while it’s a great experience, the length of it doesn’t justify the cost.

Frequently Asked Questions about iFly Hollywood

What is a wind tunnel?
A wind tunnel, in this case, a vertical wind tunnel, is the machine that produces the column of air you float on in the flight chamber. It has fans at the top with the purpose of drawing the air up past you. You experience a controlled environment providing you just the right amount of air flow for the utmost flight enjoyment.

How long is a flight?
Each flight within the wind tunnel lasts for 60 seconds. When jumping out of an airplane, the free fall portion last approx. 45 seconds. If you reserve a package that contains 2 flights, you will have 2 turns in the wind tunnel with an instructor lasting 60 seconds each. The entire iFLY first-time flyer experience takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from start to finish.

How old do you have to be?
Flyers can be as young as 3 years of age. There is no upper age limit. Children under 18 years of age need to have a parent or guardian sign their waiver.

Who can fly?
There’s no experience requirement, so beginners, intermediates and experts can all fly.  All flyers must be in good health and physical condition. If you have had a prior shoulder dislocation or back or neck problems you should not fly. Pregnant women should not fly.

Is there a weight restriction?
Those less than 6 feet tall must weigh less than 230 pounds, and those over 6 feet must weigh less than 250 pounds.

Is it safe?
Our unique design with its wall-to-wall air column, along with our certified and highly-trained instructors, allows you to safely enjoy your flight session. Your flight instructor is with you through your entire flight experience regardless of your level of experience.

Is it scary?
Generally it is not considered scary; there is NO jumping or any sensation of falling. You simply float on a column of air. There is no sensation of falling or anything that would make you feel motion sickness.

Is it hard to breathe?
Not at all. It is the same as if you stick your head out a car window while driving. All you feel is the wind in your face. Just breathe normally, either through your mouth or your nose.

Can I fly with my friends or family members?
We generally fly with several people in each session. Your friends/family will be part of the same group however you will fly one at a time in the flight chamber one-on-one with your instructor. Once you have gained more flight experience then you will be able to fly with others of the same skill level in the tunnel. If someone chooses to come to watch, they are welcome to accompany you through your experience and can watch from the observation area.

What time should I get there?
First-time flyers should arrive 60 minutes before the time you booked to fly. That gives you the time to check in, complete your waiver, attend the training session and change into your flight gear. Return flyers should arrive about 1/2 hour before your scheduled flight time.

Why do I need to wear a flight suit?
The instructors are trained to grasp the handles of your flight suit should you need spotting.
Can I do trick and flips in the tunnel?
iFLY’s first concern is for your safety in the flight chamber so the tricks or flips are done by experienced flyers only. Some flyers are able to do turns, move up and down and front to back during their first flight.

Can I wear my glasses?
Yes. We have larger goggles that fit over eyeglasses.

Will I need to take off my watch and jewelry?
Yes. You should remove any items that might flap around or become loose, such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, and hair accessories. In addition, you should remove everything from your pockets. We do have lockers for your use, but we recommend that you leave anything valuable at home as we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen property.

Do I have to do the training session?
All first-time flyers are required to take the training class. You’ll get a lot of important and helpful information as well as some pre-flight practice of your flying position. If you’ve flown with us once within the last three months, you don’t have to do the training session again and can book a flight as a Return Flyer.

How much is parking?
We offer all first-time flyers 2.5hrs of FREE valet parking at the Jurassic Parking Garage. We suggest that all our guests staying for no more than 2.5hrs take advantage of this amazing offer. Our experience takes about 1.5hrs to complete for up to15 flyers.
*Please note, after 2.5hrs the max. flat rate of $30 will be charged. For General Parking, the rate is $16 and the daytime Preferred Parking is $22. We recommend, that our guests park in Curious George, the closest garage to iFLY Hollywood.
